Check if sendmail or postfix(Trustix) is turned off in the chkconfig: [root@cp ~]# chkconfig --list | grep sendmail sendmail 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:off 4:off 5:off 6:off [root@cp ~]# chkconfig --list | grep postfix postfix 0:off 1:off 2:off 3:off 4:off 5:off 6:off if it is turned on do that: [root@cp ~]# chkconfig --level 2345 postfix off Check if qmail is added to booting after restart system via chkconfig [root@cp ~]# chkconfig --list | grep qmail if you do not see anything please do next: [root@cp ~]# chkconfig --add qmaild [root@cp ~]# chkconfig --level 2345 qmaild on It is the most popular reason that qmail does not start after reboot in the new server install.
